Welcome to Ichiban Joyas!

Hello, my name is Jenn Ramirez and I am here to make jewelry for those who like to stand out, make a statement, and be truly unique. All of my items are handmade and sculpted by me with polymer clay. I love working with polymer clay because it allows me to have the artistic freedom to go where I want with each individual piece.

I believe in constantly evolving with my work, therefore you will never see me do that same thing over and over. I feel that keeps us from moving forward in our journey to become better artists.

I take custom orders as well, so the possibilities are endless with me!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blogs and see the daily life of Ichiban Joyas!

Happy shopping and thank you for making Ichiban Joyas happen!

So what's new Jenn?

Well, it's been a few days since I've last posted. It's mainly because I have been really busy not only with the business, but with the everyday things. Regardless, I'm feeling pretty good and excited about what else is coming my way.
I kinda wanted to share some really cool things that has happened to me lately and of course share some more of my work.
With some recent developments, I'm thinking I might actually start making some videos and posting them on Youtube. I have a Youtube page, but I mainly use it to find random music videos or funny ones. I mean, I'm on every freaking networking site already, right? LOL. But that will come with time and I plan to make them look good. So stay tuned for that.
I'm in the middle of a lot of custom orders and those take time. I get really frustrated with myself when I make something and it doesn't look right and I'll go through trials and trials. Maybe, I'm being hard on myself, but I can't sell something that looks like crap or something that looks like a 5 year old made. (Although I've met some pretty talented kids.)
So, I always ask for some extra time when it comes to customs. :) Sometimes I get so used to making customs, I forget how to make my own stuff...LOL :)

Speaking of customs...I was asked to make a special piece for a customer that has bought from me before. She told me that she wanted a jewelry piece with the sun, moon, and six stars. There had to be 5 blue stars and one pink one. This piece would be a reflection of her family and she told me that she was the moon, her husband was the sun, and the stars were her children. That was the only information she gave me and she requested either a bracelet or necklace. I initially pictured a bracelet. But as I began working and making this piece, I started seeing it develop into something else. Once it was complete, it came out to be a OOAK (one of a kind) necklace. (I will never replicate this for anyone and it is the only one of its kind.) I think it's more special that way. The pendant is hanging from my double black ribbon necklace. I hope it arrives safely in the mail and I hope that I have made her happy.
I always ask my boyfriend's opinion on my jewelry, especially on items like these. He doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to this kinda stuff, so when I asked his opinion, this is what he said....(well not word for word)
An artist is not someone just putting something together and calling it art. Starbucks drinks, pretty cool, but not really art...(I felt the love there..lol) With this piece, you had to dig deeper inside yourself and really find your artistic ability. You didn't go off a premade design, it came from you. That's what makes this so special and that's what makes you truly an artist. (How he can be so profund while playing Call of Duty 2 is beyond me.)

That really got me thinking to say the least. Not to mention INSPIRED. So I will include a photo for this piece which I have named: "La familia es la alma de la luna." (The family is the soul of the moon)Enjoy!

I wanted to introduce you all to some Ichiban Mini Fruit Drinks Originals. If you're a fan on facebook you've seen these before. I've made a new one today and I thought it would be really cool to show. My later ones will include a logo as well, with Ichiban Joyas on it, so I'm really excited!
So here are some fruit drinks I've made and some bobas! The fruit drinks come with realistic looking fruity slices!(kiwi, strawberry, and dragonfruit)

This fruit drink comes with a realistic mini apple slice, realistc cream, the straw, and the juice!

Well a few new opportunities have opened up for me in regards to Ichiban Joyas, but that is going to remain a secret until later:) I've made my own lists in regards to new items and I've even traded for some new little "tools" to make my clay creations even better. I've got lots of orders to finish and I'm planning to get most out by this Wednesday. I can do it!

My next blog is going to be a good one! I've traded a lot lately and it's time for me to share what these wonderful artists have given me! I love to support fellow artists, so don't be shy, just message me. :) Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions.

Thanks for reading and Happy Shopping!

Jenn :)

  1. Your mini fruit drinks are so cute! They remind me of those Japanese erasers of little foods and beverages. Love them (^:^)

I love working with miniture (I do it on tiny crochet hooks and knitting needles that are more like pins, tho - LOL!) and admire those who do that and do it well. You do delightful work, Jenn!
